System requirements

To get the most from Qdos, and so we can support you reliably, devices used with Qdos need to meet the minimum hardware, software and peripheral requirements below.

We align these requirements with Microsoft’s support lifecycle for Windows and SQL Server.

Minimum requirements

Hardware

  • ProcessorIntel i3 (or similar) or higher, with a minimum processor speed of 2.4 GHz or faster
  • Processor type64-bit (x64) processor
  • Memory8 GB RAM or higher
  • Disk space160 GB
  • Network speed10 Mbps or higher

Limitation: Microsoft SQL Server Express 2019 supports 1 physical processor, 1 GB RAM and 10 GB storage.

Software

  • Operating systemWindows 10 / Windows Embedded POS Ready 10 or later
  • DatabaseSQL Server Express 2019

Peripherals

  • Cash drawerAures, NCR
  • Receipt printerEpson, NCR and Aures
  • Barcode scannerAures and NCR handheld scanners
  • EFTPOS terminalsIngenico (Linkly / mx51 integration)
  • DriversAll essential drivers for hardware, peripherals and EFTPOS terminals must be installed and kept up to date

All peripherals should match the POS base model to ensure compatibility.

Supported devices

Qdos can only guarantee support and stable operation of Qdos products on client-managed devices that meet these minimum requirements. Where devices don’t meet them, continued support may attract additional fees.
